Question

Why does ES currently trade with a negative premium to cash ?

During the bull it traded at a premium to cash.

But during this whole run up it seems like it has traded negative.

What will it take to make it start trading with a premium again ?

Low interest rates, low dividends.

Fair Value = S [1 + (I - D)]

Where "S" is the S&P 500 Stock Index. The ticker symbol is SPX and/or INX on most good data feeds.

Where "I" is the amount of Interest paid to your banker or broker to borrow the money to buy all of the stocks in the S&P 500 Index. The interest is calculated based on a percentage lending rate (R) from the current date (today) until the date that the S&P Futures Contract expires in March, June, September, or December.

Where "D" is the amount of Dividends paid to you from the companies that you own in the S&P 500 Index that pay a dividend. The dividends are paid to you based on the record dates for any stock in the Index that is announced between the current date (today) and until the date that the S&P Futures Contract expires in March, June, September, or December. This dividend income is expressed as a percentage rate too.

Fed funds rate is at zero. If you count dividends, the ES has to trade at a negative premium.
It will start trading premium when the interest rates are high enough to overcome the dividend payout every quarter.

See how quickly financials rebound after they are marked down to pay out in bonus? GS exployees get a bonus on their bonus.

Financials down? Let's see, if you were getting your bonus largely in stock and your options were being set soon, where would you want the strike?

EUR/USD closed below last 8 session's open/close ranges. C'MON!!!!

As puzzled as I am, you probably do not believe I am still holding onto a small part of the position on EURUSD since the break from 1.48 area.

Daily trailing stop never got hit so far ... but close these 2 days.

It is very odd (should I use profanity like freaking odd =) ) we have this kind of PA on the currencies, since I switched over (back) last year. I traded currencies long time ago when I was younger, so it is not something new to me ...

It is as if someone casted a spell onto the pair and bounced all moves around here.

=(

Nice one, I am only taking snippets out of the current move, still awake, stuck in a range. Very annoying.

P.S. It is really starting to feel as if someone is monitoring every move I make & fades, I know it's not so, just sure feels that way
