Quote from MandelbrotSet:

If S1 (993) holds it's going to form a double-bottom in a clearly defined uptrend.

It isn't my trade, so I'm not taking it (shoutout to LC), just an FYI. :D

I know ... in order to hang onto this short, you need to be in this trade since 1002 or above (lower risk), or, PP 999 (higher risk).

Last few times, S1 beats the bear indeed.

Yeah, just where the hell do you get access to info like this? Unless ure a specialist or MM, you would never know this, including the locals in the pit.

I received this type of info before. It is not dificult to get when you know a good pit trader.

I recently saw a screenshot of what looks like a normal Time and Sales window, but with a column that had a name alongside each order (Goldman, JPM, etc.). Wish I could remember where I saw that, but that's what made me think it might be available by subscription somewhere.

trade the news has a guy in the pit barking out major buy/sell orders, you can get pay for it and lisrten to it in the background while your trading, side commentary while slow is of the jerry springer class, otherwise it would be worth it
By the time they bark out the number, it's already printed on the chart. Of course, it's always nice the hear to pit go ballistic.

Quote from freehouse:

If you are a customer for one of the floor based executing brokers (i.e.., you call the floor with orders in the big contracts) you can get the information from them.
Perhaps, if you happened to be a huge hedgie. But do you seriously believe they will open their books to you or me? I think not. So the question is this. Is ASus a hedgie of larger-than-life proportion? Again, I think not.

Again, by the time ure buddy in the pit gets the info, it's already old news.

It depends on your style of trading. If you are using it for a mini scalps than that would be true.

Did a little better today. Did not move my stops or targets and have made more money than working at a job. Went long using ninja to manage the stops and targets and then went and watched CNBC. So far feel like I am getting better at this. Had about 5 trades in a row correct, 1/2 were sim trades. I have not been posting all trades since am concentrating so much on placing the trades, forget to even post. Hope some of the better traders like pocketmoney and startrader post here again. Good luck all.

Right... and conversely, you can imagine GS or JPM's multiple 100-lots are going to be held for a minimum +10 or so. We saw that yesterday when ASus announced the JPM buy orders at 994, and ES topped out after that at 1003.75.

Those GS 998.30 shorts from today are good +5.00 at this moment ... where should we expect it to go? :)
