I ain't holding a huge position, so I'm not too worried...yet. (wink, wink) I'm actually prepping myself for Monday's drop. I think the market will gap down on Monday. Any thoughts?

why would the market gap down on monday?

Very green here... but thinking news will matter on thin volume days like this and next week. At this stage of bear market I assume bad news doesn't matter much. Manipulation, other side of coin, is in full play so the manipulation may play on the news, good or bad. I suspect the target will be to keep the markets afloat. What news, I don't know? Again, I'm only learning this game... Still have a day job.

Once in a blue moon, I get this insatiable urge to act like an idiot. Today happens to be that day. :D

Left early on Friday. FWIW:
I don't see why this market should go up. The world is now in the early stages of a deep recesssion with very little prospect of growth before end of 2009.
Now, it is possible that many are in a state of confusion and ignorance which lead them to believe that stocks will rally; thus, there is the possibility of a rally in first two weeks of January. Some even believe in an Obama rally. They too are in a state of delusion. The charts may be bullish short term but I can't suspend reality and buy in these times.
But, I will look for every oportunity to short. I would like them to take this to SPX 975 or higher so I can short enough to cash in 100K profit by end of January.

Below SPX 800 I may go long for short term trades. SPX 800 may be seen as soon as early earnings news come out, and the smart traders distribute to the newbies and the naive.

Above 920 I may go short; above 950 I WILL definitely go short.

Crude and equities were moving in tandem during past few weeks. Would be interesting to see if this continues with Mid East situati9n deteriorating, again.

Crude up 1.05, ES down 1.25
Too early to draw any conclusions but we shall see how itplays out.
