Y - the volatility is crazy. At least we know one thing for sure - the big boys were all tipped off by midday friday it seems, as it was imo the craziest buying spree I have ever seen given the economic and trading backdrop that transpired last week. No one would have been going long over the weekend unless you knew the plan was close to a done deal. Ah to be a BSD...

Oh well - perhaps this will set up some better trades that can be held for a while. This could be the push for the election.
I'm decidedly with you on that one. In hindsight, the news was definitely leaked to the Wall Street. Otherwise, you couldn't have gotten the rally in the afternoon that closed at the top on Friday. Whoever thinks insider trading is illegal (or that it's strictly enforced) should by now be seen as a fool.

It is a crazy gap though if they keep this up. 20 points easy. Shorting here and now not a good idea?

I'll go check what my indicators say, but I'm tempted...

Come to think of it, do you remember when a consortium of big banks got together over the weekend and announced that they would bail out Ambac, the actual company that insured their own bad debt? Well, as I remember, nothing came out of that weekend meeting nor any subsequent meetings although the news sent the market way up.

What's the probability that this fortuitous event will pan out as the next all-American bullshit?

I went long at the same price.

maybe i got your shares

If you're the other side I would advise Spersky to frame the trade confirm and hold for 1200.

Of course it's moot since the clearinghouse doesn't accept paper trades as counterparty to a legitimate short.

Wow, I never heard of someone buying shares of an equities index futures contract! How many shares of es did you buy?

It is usually refered to as a contract or a car on the floor. Car originally refering to a 5000/bu railcar of grain. Good luck with your es shares!
