It's not that you are in your 30s 60s or 90s it's the law of recency. Things were equally abysmal in the early 90's, 1st gulf war, saving and loan crisis, late 70's early 80's, tech implosin 2001. Look at the growth, innovation, prosperity that came out of those periods.

It is no different this time, same challenges will garner the same results again and again.

Quote from Spectre2007:

Since I'm in my 30's, I haven't lived through some of the more dire conditions the country has weathered...

but currently the circumstances are abysmal..

Depression/recession...rah rah rah, and it hasn't even manifested in the numbers quite yet... imagine when it does.

short 1361 off 1, stop near 1362.5, hard stop +10

Scaled out 2/3 +3.25

& off 2, that was the set-up I failed to take action upon a little while back

1/3 +0.25

For ease of follow-up, I'm short equal amounts of ES at 1364 and 1367. So I'm going to combine them at 1365.50. Again, stop is 1379.00.

OldTrader

OK, covered the other half of my short ES at 1355.25 for just over 10 points profit.

So 5 on half, 10 on the other half.

Will look at it again tomorrow.

In case this is a headfake lower, I'm buying 1 contract here at 1355.25 on trendline support. Stop at 1344, Closing out EOD.

5 min chart

I let a good sized profit get away :( I was looking for my second target of 1370 (previous trade) but never got close. Better than a loss though. 1355.75 +2 ticks. Flat for now.

rule of 48 coming to an s&p index near you :D

now theres a couple ways we can do this; slow grind up/volatility contraction or a short slaughtering holiday of +3%.

Try telling that to the T day boyz!

What's up with that 47 to 57,then to 67 move ?
