Quote from Rtrader2525:

no problem i understand. It was a soft stop and I decided to bail at 1390 exactly just didn't feel "right" I will use exact stops in the future

Just for the journal of course. I think it helps a trader to use exact stops for the journal. :)

Quote from Buy1Sell2:

Holding long here with the stop still 1385.50 -- 20 contracts from 1383.00
Reminder: I disregard all trades without exact stops for the purpose of journal integrity. :)

you sound as a stubborn kid, there is absolutely no reason to demand exact stops, all you have to do is ask that a poster finishes a trade in real-time. Of course you can disregard all you like, it's your right, I fail to see sense in that.

As a gesture of respect for the OP I will not post trades, this is not a tantrum by any means, it's just that I don't fit the criteria somehow, if a trader looks at an area where to get out of a bad trade then it's up to him to live with the consequences of either being stopped out for larger than estimated stop OR come out a winner for allowing a trade an extra point breathing space. Obviously the ones that say about 2 point stop & later run it into 10 will be questionable.

Just post an exact larger stop like OldTrader suggested. :)

forgot i had shorted nq last night at 2005.50 covered at 2001.75 standing waiting and watching now. Wishing I woulda left my shorted franc and yen on :) good trading everyone!

B1S2 is correct that hard stops are essential for any new trader or if you are trying to show an accurate record for some reason. But if you use soft stops and would like to post your trades you can widen your posted stop and just post when you get out, or post your soft stop and if it is hit and you choose to stay in then just post again that you are remaining in the trade. There is no reason to stop posting. If you use soft stops there must be some point where you will definitely get out, so you can just post that.
