Well, here is a thought for you ...not a rule but a thought to mull over.

From each selected entry point there are three likely outcomes.

... win
... go nowhere for a while.
... loss

If you do your homework correctly with ES you can ensure that your entry point falls into the first two categories 90%+ of the time.

When the market insures the final outcome, nothing can be "insured". Perhaps you can prove otherwise over a few hundred trades in this journal to validate your theories?

Alrighty! "R" has a dog in the fight ... but dude, why are you shorting a bottom reversal?

I was looking for a larger retracement to the high 1970's low 80's area. My system was setting up for a second leg down, but the follow through didn't happen, so we quickly get out of the way and wait for the next setup. :)

I'm OK with losing so long as it's a trade that meets my system requirements.

Fair enough.

Fair enough.

It is never my intention to bend your mind or anyone else's mind for that matter.

There are really only two patterns continuation or reversal, or
"there is less to trading than meets the eye".

Today there is a double bottom on spy at 10:00 and 10:40 am. market heading north, will it continue or reverse?

...2 and 3 min D closing, 5 on its way...
