Quote from iloveoptions:

I have a feeling that this market wants to close the week on a positive note in relation to last week. I think the close last week was 1390. Therefore, any buys right here should yield $$$ if this comes to fruition. I took a long at 1381 using the 1380 May ES call options, and will be adding if we get down to 1378-1375 area. I hope it does. I'm targeting 1392 for end of day.

Edit: Ok, I checked on the close last week and it was 1387 (not 1390) according to my charts. Please correct me if your numbers are showing differently.

Saw 1391.75 and exited my 1380 ES May Calls at 31.25 (in at 27).

Long 89.75 stop 88.

Edit: out 1/2 91.50 +1.75. Stop moved to b/e on the rest.

Edit1: sorry original stop was supposed to be 89.
Out 91.25 on the rest +1.5

Some dynamics to think about:

1) most equity markets rise when significant emotional deviation is not present from recent tendencies.

2) everything else is noise, meaning MM's accumulate underlying darling equities at better average prices then they would in a rising index market. Meaning watch the underlying favorites like AAPL/RIMM and other higher flyers to see if they correlate with price movements in the index.

edit: Panama I tried to send you a PM but your not accepting PM's. :)

line...

a break of the line draws in a lot of buy stops.. and net longs, it can be a significant turning point when lack of volume ultimate turns the price down again.... in a longer downward trending market.
