Quote from Buy1Sell2:

It's not that it doesn't work, rather it's more that it is an unnecessary insignificant rule. Other means of trading are much more profitable than the rule of 10 bounce or rule of 10 retracement. :)

Such as a never scale out, stay in a trade for months and let 250 point profit go back to 100 point profit on a stop out strategy ?

:D

hey, vol,

did you happen to see H,L,C for globex yesterday?

H 1390.75
L 1370.75
C 1380.75

there is some sort of a relationship between these numbers.
I've been scrathing my head trying to figure it out ;)

The no scale out strategy brings large profits with lower commissions. The rule of 10 by itself brings small profits with larger commissions. So yes.

The problem with rule of 10 is that it is just insignificant at best. I am not saying that it doesn't work --rather it's just unnecessary.

If it doesn't fit into the category of "doesn't work," a category into which most stuff fits, how can it be insignificant?

I have no problem paying more commissions in return for the opportunity of having more profitable opportunities with less market risk than a swing trader.

The rule generally produces insignificant profits. When the rule of 10 signals and the result is a larger profit, it generally coincides with other technicals that are pointing to the larger gain. Thus, the rule can be discarded in my view.

You sound like some of my atheist friends.
