..since we broke down from 1334, my work tells me the stair-steps look like this
1334
1299
1254
1205
1156
1141
...likewise reverse on the way back up
The question is - what step do "they" want to stop on?
How do these numbers compare to everyones work ?
if you look at steps, in the 87 selloff we rallied 3 steps up and then sold off to bottom of 1st step, the bottom of this 3 step up rally would be 07/18/06 or 1224, or draw line with 8/16/07 and 1/23 08. for support at 1239 ish, whAT IS THE LIMIT DOWN NUMBER

FWIW, my work on ES has these levels as SIGNIFICANT based on DAILYS, on the downside from current levels (1250-60)

1223.75
1200.25
1123.25
1052.75

There are MANY insignificant (based on dailys, based on my work) levels in between. 1230.50, 1211.00 and 1177.00 are clustered zones and are worth a mention.

can't sleep........i was short from 1375......then covered at 1293 the day before the mortgage as collateral bailout.........and now wondering if i should short this pig now around 1260..........i will follow my intuition and not chase this market......plenty of intraday opportunities present themselves daily.......although it would've been nice to make 130+ points in just a few weeks.

More entertaining tonight that the ES is the Yahoo Finanance BSC board.

Actually, I really shouldn't say entertaining. TRAGIC is probably a better word.

Children are sleeping tonight soundly, while their parents are wondering how they're going to afford college, now that they have lost everything.

Some investors actually think that since they have a stop order in place, that they're protected from disaster. Delusional today, suicidal tomorrow.

Any bounce should be considered short covering until there is true capitulation and true buying. Even if one actually buys the bottom, one will likely have to deal with the retest.

I bet B1S2 is sit'in pretty please as punch right about now ... :D

2 months of sitting to get back to a low that he could have already covered at before and avoided the 150 point spike?
