sensible move to go 50%
I'd go full position if "they" can get it to 1333, but rally kinda looks like it's fizzling.

Been trying to get short from 1338 since yesterday morning, but you can't always get what you want.

consider all the bad news we have had over the past year.

and ES is only down about 2.5% from this time last year.

now if all that bad news wont take the market down, what will?In my opinion nothing.this market is ready to roll higher, and ready to roll higher in a big way.

Interesting idea that is worth backtesting. Thanks! :)

Vertigo did it in the original thread:

-------------------------

RAW OVERVIEW of 2 consecutive Gaps UP (study did not include any data from Q3 2007, data reviewed was December 1997 through June 2007)

Since December of 1997, there have been 115 occassions when there has been a second gap up day after an unfilled gap up day. of those 115 events, 78 filled the gap of the 2nd day.

78/115 = 68% of the time 2nd consecutive gap fills (fills the gap created by the 2nd day's open).

----------------------------

I recall 1 occasion this year when we went 2 gaps left behind, and didn't fill on the same day of the 2nd gap. We did fill it a few days later....

Rule of 20 (10X2) from overnight (1337.50 to 1317.25), and then rule of 10 during the day (1317.25 to 1327.50). OK, Volente, I am starting to see the light.

Hey Volente,

I wasn't there for the 1307.5 signal. (I was leaving for at a meeting at work--I can only trade full-time M, W, and F--only 3 hours on T and TH). Before my 2 PM meeting I placed a limit order at 1309 out of the assumption that they were going to knock them down 30 from the overnight high.

So, yes, I followed the rule. I chose 1309 because I wanted to be sure that I got in. Remember, I wasn't going to be able to be at my computer for a while.

I got a good price, but missed out on more since I traded only a fraction of my usual size (not going to go full size if I cannot be there). At least it was a nice surprise when I got back at 4 PM.

What can I tell you other than the rule sometimes works, and that I am more and more impressed all the time. But that T day stuff--I'm not convinced.

Yet.
:)

we have the rule of 2,4 and then we have the rule of 10,2x10 =20, and now we have a 3x10 =30 rule,so i'll start the rule of 40 and 50 since were getting real volatile. i'm also starting a rule of 10 and 20 from the 3 pm europe close since i'm confused as sometimes the rule of 10 applies to overnights and sometimes it applies after the 9:30 open. ps(volente i covered 75% of my 7 figure short today) god bless all and good trading to all

WTF are you talking about ?

Who said 2 or 4 ?

The rule applies to previous support or resistance levels using the entire time ES is open.

Wonder what made me say this in the low 20's BEFORE it ran to
27.5 and failed ?

i'll put the message through to them

But they told me this morning that 28 might be tough.

glad you took my advice.
