Somebody does not want it below 29 for some reason. I find it hard to believe it was to engineer a false break on a Friday afternoon.

This could have easilly gone to 20 on a break. Makes you wonder.

Quote from smilingsynic:

If it hits 36 and immediately backs off, that would suggest false breakout (afternoon high) and a trip down.

False breakouts often take place at the start of the hour.

agree?

I agree that you shouldn't change your handle every other day, because I can't keep up putting you on Ignore. Half of the names on my ignore list are your aliases...

And if you use the same signature what is the point of changing the handle anyway? Idiot...

Quote from smilingsynic:

Emotions shouldn't have a prominent place in trading, but on afternoons like this, I HATE the ES.

There, I said it.

When I trade this stuff, I get the feeling that someone's trying to f$&% with me and other traders who have studied market action and who know the "rules".

More and more it is getting that way with the ES. And it isn't that way with all stock indices. In Hong Kong, breakouts go where they're supposed to go, and they do it without screwing around.

I stalk the ES like a vulture, waiting for it to give up the ghost, and all I get out of my afternoon is 5 lousy ticks.

One of these days, one of these days, bang, zoom.

Quote from Lawrence Chan:

It is no longer a question of why it is not breaking 29 for the whole day.

Who bought there the whole day makes me wonder.

controlled sell off all day.

There is no clear signal. I mentioned the 1333 magick number on a Sunday post, I'm expecting buyers here however it's Friday and most traders will not hold this market over the weekend. I'm neither short nor long at this point, but expecting buying shortly.
