Quote from Spectre2007:

the unending pull of history, the market is resistant at times, but the underlying feeling or pull for pivotal events is subconsciously needed.....for a new leg.

Maybe the fed has chartists like yourself working for them and they may come out with a news event at this pivotle moment that will assist in the push for a continued directional movement.

the banking sector has been in the bad for a while and is already in the news I would think more so the NFP.

watch for further downgrades by the insti's or rating agencies,...or conference calls.

this will be a warning sign when price action responds appropriately to negative news.

it means insti's are prepositioned before the news to take the market where they can capitalize on it.

the other scenario is that since supply of debt will be at all time highs, the FED can't afford a jubilant equity market, it will tend to push debt financing costs higher, so the market is rigged for lower rates, the beneficial aspects, oil prices will be lower then what they would be. It seems to be a engineered situation.

out... of longs.
Nice exit! I would of thought you would have given up more before you exited. Im a little curious were you in a hurry to leave because of personal reasons or was their an indication in your analysis that the market was going to sell off. I certainly was taken buy surprise that the ES sold off as bad as it did. I was actually watching the RS when the sell-off occurred.

it was getting close to resistance, and had some personal things, plus the market overall hasn't been using the holiday mentality as demonstrated in price action, it made headway to the downside, and range extension was in.

so it seemed like looking at everything it was a calculated exit, if I felt it had more fuel to go, would have kept it till the close.
