Why set profit targets? Win XXX amount, and then quit--I don't see the logic in it. I don't mean any disrespect (winners deserve congratulations), but one should be more focused on cutting losing days short, not winning days.
It IS tempting to stop for the day when one is up so much, but one has to resist that temptation, especially in times like these. Volatility is a godsend to those of us who remember the 11-13 VIX days of 2003 on. As long as it is here, I'm taking advantage (I'm supposed to be on vacation, and I just cannot resist letting this opportunity go by, even if only for a few hours a day).
After all, if you're hot, you're hot. Go with it. Go with it as far as you can.
I can't picture Tom Brady telling Randy Moss that I've thrown enough touchdown passes to you today, so it's time for me to sit down on the bench. Does Tiger Woods stop playing because he's won so many tournaments? When Wilt had scored 80 points, I bet he wanted the ball more than ever. If he hadn't, he wouldn't have gotten to 100.
There is a time to quit: when there are few opportunities. Some days it makes more sense to punch out early. But not this week!
Good luck to all.
