Quote from mbusch:

I was in the air and offline during market hours Friday. I landed after the close to find that my raised stop-loss was hit on those SPY Nov 155 calls during the intra-day dip. So I'll have to settle for a 43% realized profit instead of the 87% unrealized profit they would have had by the close. On the other hand, I don't have to worry about bad news over the weekend, so I guess I can live with that.

Nice weekend, everybody.

P.S. Nice to see you back posting, Apex!!! :)

P.P.S. Who's this <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder#Diagnostic_criteria>narcissistic jerk</a> who calls himself my2cents?

don't be too rough on the guy, he in his previous link provided a post that indicated what your average trader is up against.

heres a general info link.

What is the signal? tia

Quote from Buy1Sell2:

I am not prepared yet to enter a new long position in either NQ or ES. The longer term trend is up, but I will wait for the proper signal to go full position in one or the other--probably NQ. J knows the signal.

LOOKING AT THIS CHART, WITH THE 3 CANDLESTICKS BOXED, I SEE AND ENGULFMENT. WHAT I CAN'T REMEMBER IS WHY THE CANDLESTICKS ARE SHADED OR NOT. (MAYBE HIGH AND LOW)

WHAT DO YOU ALL SEE IN THIS CANDELSTICK PATTERN?

Light Candlestick = positive day (opened at bottom of the thick part, closed at the top)

Dark Candlestick = negative day (opened at top of thick part, closed at bottom)

and of course, the "wicks" are the hi/lo range

Ummm, bullish engulfing a.k.a. outside bullish are signals of reversal, when coming off of a down move

QQQQ weekly is clearly not coming off of a down move. Reading too much into that bar is very dangerous. Taken at half value, the outside charateristic suggests reversal. If that candle is all you've got, your prediction is baseless.

Not if he plays bullish engulfings in an uptrend.

That requires a little outside the box thinking so that may not make much sense to some.

Sometimes it just doesn't need to be complicated at all, engulfing + volume = continuation in this case ImO, just look at Asia today, JEEZ!!!!
