It would be nice if you could provide the board with the general R:R and W:L as well as %Win vs. %Loss stats for the instruments that you trade.

What I'm seeing is pretty incredible ... vey small shakeout losses, a few breakevens, and serious gains in the area of 1:5 to 1:10 on a R:R basis.

So if you're system for entering and exiting trades is at least 70%, you're pretty much home free.

Good trading,

JJ

I am recording trades in the Eclectic Journal to show a win/loss percentage and to show gains per contract. There isn't enough data there yet to show long term effect. I would tell you that the win/loss percentage should end up being 50 to 75 percent with most losses being smaller in nature. As far as R/R, I don't use profit targets, so the reward is sometimes far far greater than a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1. This is what I want. I need bigger wins than losses.

Spooz,

I know you said you weren't coming around for a while, but I know you're lurking.

I think you should simply acknowledge the fact that you were wrong about the market's tanking and stop blaming the PPT boogeyman for your losses.

It is very clear from your posts this morning that you were leaning heavily short.

So you were wrong. So what? That is the way it goes sometimes. There was plenty of money to be made on the upside this afternoon, and on the downside after ES went back to right around the unchanged level. I for one did not make as much as I should. But that was MY fault (I had a good morning, and was content and tired already).

Take responsibility already.

Prudent traders were waiting for the buy signal after the double bottom. I bot at 1503.75, and that was actually late, since I waited for confirmation.

When did you cover? Or are you still short?

Good luck.

nice try,son..........guess my post about "i know you" pissed you off ,eh".....nailed it on the head....did`nt I ? LOL

was not short at support.....but long from 02.50...i missed the move down.....read the posts.
one short today at 07 down to the 50% fib, covered at 01.75.

their are entitities at work that you need to be aware of if you ever want to graduate from book reading & become the man that you desperately covet.................................i know you! :)

prove me wrong & make a call or two today on the indicies.

my prediction is you will not even attempt it because you were "out of your office" today,right.......................i know you :)

seriously, take care & the best of luck on your progress....that`s something i would not begrudge anyone because i know how difficult & painful this game can be.

On the sidelines. Probably exited the NQ trade too early, but that's ok for now since it was a decent gain. Looking for new longs. If trend changes from up to down, I will the reverse and being looking for shorts. My style as I noted a while back is not to look for reversals anymore, but simply to let the trend develop and then trade in the direction of the new trend with respect to daily charts. With weekly and monthly charts, I will not ignore what I consider to be obvious reversals because this activity takes much less time and consideration. :)

I see that we are off to another typical day.

Only one person knows what is going on with their posts and that is the Poster themselves and they are the only ones who know the intent behind their posts.

Actually, I will retract that. .... they are the only ones who SHOULD know their real intent, but I doubt some posters have even reached that stage of reality in their lives, and yet they want to rip zillions from the markets.

viva los markets.

Always, always there is a little gem hidden in the rough....well worth the effort of reading ET IMO.

Posters cannot project their trading knowhow more than a short distance in front of them up the tree of knowledge, yet those on higher branches can look back effortlessly.
A some stage a climber will come to understand the tree of knowledge and will be able to recognize those on higher branches. This is when the learning process takes over from the wallowing stage and breakthroughs become apparent.

Some Posters bring valuable knowledge with them to ET and assume that it has a direct bearing upon their desire to become a Trader. They then assume that as it applies to them so it must apply to others ETers.

This is the part that makes ET so interesting.

Anyway as I say, just another typical day.

gm Spooz Top,

I would like to use your descriptive phrase of me, if I may
"desperately seeking ticks" (dst)

I like it very much and I wish to change to it from fearless9.

regards

dst (in anticipation)

Takes one to know one I suppose.

what's up with beating around the bush posts.

I've struggled with the price action past couple sessions trying to stay long. Taking heat on trading positions.

I didn't loose on the trades, but its been a struggle.

I'm still long cash positions. Everyone who didn't exit are looking to exit post fomc.

I believe there needs to be quite a bit more pullback and retest of the 1490 area . More consolidation as it were before we have a chance to go higher. USD erodes against the Yen here I believe.
