Oh No!!!! Spectra is back and obfuscating the shit out of everyone, AGAIN?? :)

This thread is deteriorating wonderfully without my help, so let's just wait until the more intelligent posters come back.

When oil prices jump up and demand is strong, charter rates also go up as the demand for tankers increases. Since newbuildings are very slow to come to the market, the increased demand is never fully satisfied with new supply so the increased rates will stay up for quite some time.

What usually happens is companies like Excel, Teekay (TK) and others look to increase their fleet size during these times and there is a lag of about a year before an order can be placed and a new tanker hits the market (especially if built in Asia). So as long as oil stays up and demand is strong, the rates should stay healthy for some time and these stocks will see continued strength. Oil stocks certainly do well when oil is up but many people overlook the oil tanker companies who usually pay nice dividends as well.

i expect the typical pre fed action into next weds............the 15 min chart will tell you everything you need to know......lo risk buys & sells are in that pic..........like where buyers stepped up last night was exactly where they should`ve.
