I didn't want to post a farewell, but it will save a lot of PMs. I realized it was a losing proposition when I noticed that fully 50% of the "recent posts" list were pumping threads by the stock trader and mymini crowd.

Good luck to all. This is one of the best threads in ET's history.

I hope that this leave is temporary and in time you will change your mind and frequent ES thread. Please reconsider. :D

A few personal notes:

Quote from Spooz Top:

nice to hear from you ,Spec.........

I am not sure, if Spectre is talking to me, but since he is on my ignore, I didn't seee the original, I am just assuming. Anyway, what is the deal about getting personal again? I don't read you, you can put me on Ignore too.

Also, just honor your word and stay away. You already said goodbye once.

For Riskarb, you could just stay with this thread, you don't have to leave the whole ET. Just stick with the few valuable threads, that's it.

For Blackguard: I don't even mention honoring your word, but what's the deal with always having a new handle but keeping the old signature?? :)

Anyway, personal stuff is done, we now might return to our scheduled program, which is prognosis about the weather....

I'm just swing trading, lot less stress, only scalp for entertainment.

I don't have anyone on ignore, plus I'm not going to violate the theme of this board and post 50 posts in 5 seconds as in the past. Even though I don't post on this board, I just found your question to be rude in the way it was worded.

I read this thread, and the trials and tribulations of the posters here. B1S2 trading style reminds me of my dad's. Sorry Pekelo, if it was personal, but I do read ET fairly frequently and not just this thread.

Don't worry, I'm at peace and have found my niche/journalesque need.

goodluck with trading.

Chris

I agree with Pekelo .. why not just ignore the useless threads? Your leaving would be a true loss around here.

Staying long. I'll make a call for fun --Price will hit 1590 today. --Talk to everyone tomorrow or Monday--:)

One last thing to mention today to make the call more interesting. --We'll close at 1590 or above today. --

Are you still long?

DMartin

... i think one great thing about b1s2's system is that ... as he has said....
.... because of his position size... he does not have to watch the market....
.....but i am also interested to see how his game plan changes at this point....
.... as i see more downside to come
....edit... guessing that he will say that he views this as a minor pullback for more upside to come.... which is still possible
Quote from Pekelo:
I think you have been long from 1537. Went up to 1587 today, nice 50 pts gain, and just in a few hours 50% of the gains evaporated. I think you don't use stops, do you?
I am curious, what's the gameplan now?

Yes. A formation for reversal has not been put together for reversal on either the daily or weekly yet. ----Doesn't mean it won't go down and I get nailed, but I believe at the moment, we are still headed higher. Certainly looks like we could have a short term pause in the up direction here, but I stay long for now. :)

Quote from JimmyJam:

You know it's interesting how B1S2 sets-up this Journal and openly talks about all the details of his trading system, but no one seems to be interested in following it, at least on a conceptual level.

He's mentioned that:

1. He uses at least two (2), and most likely three (3) frames of reference to determine trend. In this case that's monthly, weekly, daily, but you can use the concept in whatever way is most appropriate for your style of trading.

2. He always trades in the direction of the largest frame of reference.

3. He never tries to out-think the markets, because he realizes he cannot know more than the group mind represented by everyone trading a given indice (ie, price action) at this moment in time.

4. He lets his winners run ... since we're daytraders that might mean going for a double or a triple, or loading up the boat when conditions are right for you.

In the meantime, we've got all these traders running around either trying to out-think the markets by using every technique known to man but this one.

Not a critique fellas, just an observation.

I make it only because after going back-and-forth for quite some time now I recently got my mojo back like I used to have it, oh, maybe a year or so ago (I don't remember exactly) ... and I did it by using all of the concepts that's (can you use "that's" in a past tense form?, that's the second time I've done it) already been mentioned in this Journal.

Good trading,

JJ

i don`t think that it`s B1`s intention to have us cloned to trade his style...........as a matter of fact it`s up to the individual to develop & design his own style around his/her personality.........you have to be an independent thinker & NOT ride the coat tails of someone else.that`s the ONLY road to success in this game.

it does`nt mean that one can`t take bits & pieces of something someone uses & apply it to their own methodolygy but to completely try & use someone elses methodolygy is doomed for failure, imo.

trial & error through experience is the way..........or failing your way to success is what i call it & what i did without a mentor.
this is such a great thread because of the diversity of styles.....not one guy cloning a group.
