That was this time, and if you had put on the same trade before we went 1550 to 1370 ?

You'll see from postings that I stopped myself out ( I think in the 1553 range?) after I had been long. Then, I simply looked for ways to get long again.

But the countertrend trader uses much smaller stops and is able to take many more trades than the trend trader.

Trend trader can also do this and trades will generally run farther. The contents of this post are why trend trading is better in a nutshell.

You also sold a 1480 ish long for 2 points and we went to ~1483 before running to 1560. Was that not a trend trade ? Why would you not give that position the same 19 point stop or more ?

I disagree because in ES there is a lot of back and fill. If you are using small stops and trying to trend trades and hold long term, odds are you will get stopped out before the trend resumes.

This was answered earlier. I had a full NQ position on. The ES position is on right now simply as a demonstration of how it is hard for the market to work too far against you when you are with the trend. The position is very small compared to the NQ position. Of course, the market CAN move against me even when I am with trend and it can move siginificantly. It's just harder to do so. :)
I will hold these position long for now. Maybe I will even get a profit out of it. I'll be out for the rest of the day. Good fortune to everyone here!!

Not discussing long term versus intraday. I am discussing trend versus counter trend. Talk to everyone tomorrow or the next day. :)

you should be alright. Took a quick long with horrible entry, flat for a small loss. The pivot looks like a brick wall at the moment.

Atticus I assume you are still holding short here?

Yeah, the nonfarm is lose/lose for equity markets.
