That comes out to an average of 2pts a day ... no mean feat, but doable.

Good trading.

Jimmy,

If you trade one contract per $5000, then that would be 40% per month ROI. A mere 50k account turns into about 3 million in one year if you compound once per month.

Just wondering how long you have been making 40% per month? I am not saying you aren't, just curious.

Hmmm... so your prediction is based on all time frames? And what exactly does it mean anyway, going down before it goes back up? What are the thresholds of time and price that determine the accuracy of the prediction?

Quote from JimmyJam:

Nope, strictly short-term scalper here.

With a short @ 1542 (as stated), anything @ 1540 and below counts as a "win" in my book ... remember what i said about averaging 10pts ES per week?

Im glad I asked. :)

So JJ, is 1:1 your "normal" r/r per trade? What if you are wrong? Do you make more than 1 trade per day in that case? Or do you make multiple trades per day anyway? Just asking. BTW: I don't use a particular r/r. Mines per trade, based on price levels, which is greatly affected by volatility. That's where disciplined risk management comes in.

Not sure if we are going to get there. Systems want to short. The time of day is enough to filter and not jump in.

Adding a fixed stop '42.

I don't use the same compounding formula you use.

Once I hit a set number of contracts, I pull my money out.

Having said that, not every trade is going to be a winner, and if I get a signal to cut my trade, I'm going to have to take 1.5 pts or less (or even, the trading Gods forbid, take a loss).

Also, just between me and you folks, I'm a ball hog and love to keep shooting it, just gotta hoist up another one! When playing basketball, a miss won't necessarily hurt you, but when trading, it will.

Sometimes I average 2pts to 4pts a week, when it's all said and done (and happy to get that). I also bounce around in the YM and NQ, and while they posses substantially less risk than the ES, and are more granular, thus allowing for better fills, they also pay less.

That enough detail? :D

Good trading,

JJ

how low will we go? (ie when will you cover?):)

I am targeting 1530 by Tuesday's close. Ideally I'll hold half to 1530 and let the remainder ride. Stops at 1544.
