Quote from Spectre2007:

players 2-5 will be overleveraged/undercapitalized/.....

player 1 can literally throw the market around, and oscillate price to extremes to shake out players 2-5 positions. Eventually those players will be out of the game.

or player 5 jumps on board which ever direction player 1 decides to take the market. As long as he follows player 1, he is safe from price oscillation.

the other truism is, player 1 has to constantly revitalize cash reserves to be able to push price around. Otherwise its 'dead money' it has no power. And thats what your seeing on the 60 minute red bars. Players 1 types revitalize cash pools.

The actual price where trading occurs has no bearing to the ultimate goal of player 1. Its the ability have players 2-5 buy at the peak and sell at the valleys through fear and greed or running stops which forces them out.

The problem with the scenario is there are multiple player 1's who don't all have the same idea on market direction.

your right, but its similar to a relay race, where the batton is handed over day to day, this subgroup constantly chase each other...and retail is caught in the middle chopped up and stopped out.

in the pit, it gets telegraphed pretty fast when a biggie is selling or buying... and even in the tic action you can see the waves as they come in if you know what to look for in the electronic markets.

Holy shit guys..... Post some stuff with value not useless bantering and then saying your were taking the other side of the trade the whole time. I think most people( I for one) want to read about analysis, live trades and reasoning, backtesting, emotions, support and strategies. We can sit here all day GUESSING what smart money is doing but I have never met anyone who could make a dime consistently by trying to outsmart the market.

apex indirectly your looking for signs of what the smart money is doing.

support and resistance on the chart is created for a reason.

your looking for validation or invalidation of a working large sellside or buyside order, when a trade is placed.

i just don`t see the point in all the double talk & pointless rants jamming up a good thread while serious traders trade & newbies like princessa, saliva & saxon try & learn from us....it`s more of a distraction than anything else.
Obviously, you have never had any beginner's luck nor have you successfully made it out of beginners' den—judging by the way you trade. Instead of minding what others say, why don't you focus more on your trades. But then again, don't mind me. I'm just another noob who indulges in pointless rants.

Happy trading!

Quote from apex82:

The spike was from large, smart traders covering their shorts... you dont get movement like that by anything else other then short covering.

This is why I sell premium on position trades as well..... There can be a lot of fakeouts before the move gets started which can be hard to sit through.

what is this?...trying to decipher smart money..

I dont think you realize who spooz is... He is one of the most consistent, profitable future traders I have ever seen. He even has proof on other threads if you dont believe it. Do your research before making claims like this....

Did I make a trade off that info? I decyphered after the fact not trying to guess before it happened...

Well, it was never my concern in the first place to set anyone against one's own record, but does that mean he has the right to judge others as "newbie"? Moreover, some of his recent trades were quite regrettable IMHO.
