Quote from Spooz Top:

there are definitely games being played on extreme ticks these days....although it should be on a first come first serve basis,i`m not so sure it is.the bots just always seem to be lined up ahead of everyone else & if price trades thru your limit,it seems we can expect it to go a few ticks further.

It seems the market is against you when that happens, but the CME have specific algorithms to prevent players having an unfair advantage, other than be better capitalized. I don´t see how these algorithms can be overridden to give a specific MM an unfair advantage.

I agree with spooz I highly doubt its first in first out with nothing going on behind stage.... I am not complaining and saying the market is out to get me or anything. I just had to adapt my strategy.

LOL, I'm Short also (1544.50), but yesterday's lows are showing support and the internals are looking pretty bullish.

I might have to eat this baby.

So my entry is covered and I'm going to get at least a couple of ticks (what I consider scratch) from this trade.

But the market is too bullish for me to see a profit on the Short, and it's going back up before it drops.

:D :p

TM........LOL

Bruce......i know what you`re saying regarding algorithms but when it comes to large sums of money,nothing would surprise me.i sat at 1512.25 for over 2hours off that diamond formation,from the previous swing lo,& i dd`nt bother to check how many traded there because it made me sick to mis that move....but i find it hard to believe that many were ahead of me.just seem to be common place these days.

This is how it works:

First-In, First-Out (FIFO) Algorithm
FIFO uses price and time as the only criteria for filling an order. In this algorithm, all orders at the same price level are filled according to time priority. It is important to note that a user loses their order priority when the order is changed in any of the following ways:

* An increase in quantity;
* A change in price; and,
* A change in account number.

Ya I understand... but like spooz says.. this is a dog eat dog industry. There is lots of stuff that goes on that the retail trader will never know about. The es did not use to be like this... you use to be able to get filled no problem.

An increase in quantity... Note the absence of a decrease in quantity. This is where games are played while maintaining pole position. Have you ever watched volumes on DOM? Pulled quantity, in increments of 1, maintain pole position. Just one of likely many exploits, within the "rules" of the algo.
