I recall browsing through S/R thread and I do believe that strategy of buying/shorting S/R, specifically of an opening range, works more consistently when trading stocks and not futures, IF there are sufficient levels of supply & demand present ie news/earnings. Just my 2 cents.

exactly. i find it MUCH easier to trade support/resistance in stocks, even with the occasional breakouts, than to trade these crazy futures! and when the stock fills the gap, i figure out support level and buy it, makes me feel like a dang trading genius, when the fact is, it's just not all that complicated. very unlike futures....

Hey Apex...

You have no idea how far reaching your wrath was. :eek:

I had just read your post, and all of a sudden BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. We are having major weather here, and power was lost. Thank goodness for battery backup. Closed all my positions including a nice ER position :mad: and shut down.

Plants are washed away in the backyard, rain gutters overflowed, and minor flooding in the streets.

Thanks a lot.

My bad... at least you could get ahold of your broker. Where abouts do you live?

Hi Pekolo;

Here you go my friend. As you may not know, bear flags are my favorite pure chart pattern. They appear daily on most intraday TFs. I am a bit of an aficionado. :)

Idaho. The battery backup kept me live long enough to exit. Make sure your modem power is attached to the backup. [whew]

get dialup and run off the laptop or get a wireless card and trade through a tornado.

Anyone know what happened last night? It hit 1536 to the tick which was major resistance but this looks more like a news event.

Well... I agree with spectre. This is basically the bulls last stand. Any move below this 1524-1525 zone we should see a move at least to 1514-1515 if not 1510. However if this zone holds, it would be very bullish. This market PA is indicative at intermmediate tops.

We have patterns in some of the indices indicating a trend day.
