B1S2, to answer your Q from earlier on - I absolutely hated holding that position overnight, I think I actually had a nightmare early morning about it LOL, I would not be doing this often, trust me
The only thing I am holding long term are SLV shares, but no margins or major concerns for volatility there, actually I am building as you say a positional long there with all my profits from futures trading going into SLVs.Business as usual.
Well I took most of the afternoon off after I covered at 1317.50. I missed the further downside, but I'm not disappointed. My plan right now is to take at least 10 points per contract and I ended up with 12, so I stuck with the plan. There aren't too many days like this, so I think 10 per contract is a pretty good number. If I end up always leaving dollars on the table, I'll adjust a bit.
