yes it can be a very good leading indicator when you talk about leading other studies such as macd etc......stoch, rsi, so forth....but that doesn't give it any more value since the oscialltors are mediocre at best in my opinion..........so it can beat some weak indicators......all depends on finding the best time frame for the system........longer the better in my opinion..........probably 15 min best for that day after day........be careful to get off the "chart hopping" syndrome as each day there will be one chart that is better than others and we might think we have finally found what we seek......not the case usually as each day is different in volume, price action, etc.......so the chart today was perfect for crossing system but maybe tomorrow it won't work well at all o na any chart or it might be th e 30 min instead of 15 or even 5 min......so we naturally t hink.........let's run about 4 screens......voila!.....then we get into too much information for our minds to assimilate especially at the right now moment when entry signal is given......too many screens now for emotion s to handle.........let's see, check this one first, it's okay, it says go.........okay, 30 min chart s says go, wait a mnute.5 min says no way I SAY NO WAY MR TRADER DON'T DO IT.........page 1

then we talk about the actual crossing of the 12 by the 4........WHAM crossing happens fast this time on breakout bar, so what is natural action for us to think we must take, surely we cant' sell that low or buy tha thigh can we? no we shouldn't because most of the time it pulls back many points...and many time s it keeps on driving for many points without a retracement or pullback......for the entry, mr romik.........you are never going to have a leading ma indicator line.............that is a very unimportant fact .............but you do have a crossing that you can learn to trade........ you are on the right track but probably a few million people have been right where u r with this, and most of them no longer trade because the more they learned the more they lost.......emotions took them out.......all of your prior stock and futures long term trading will only be a stumbling block for you because it absolutely has no value......... now u r thinking this porgie is an arrogant, know it all curse word......... more curse words........but i do have a great deal of concern for other people believe it or not........and you guys here have been extremely nice and don't deserve anyone disrupting your learning process.......if any of the main guys, especially b1b2 wish me to shut up and leave for good i will repect that you have my word..............
George, I don't believe that there is such a thing as a true leading indicator based on 1 technical indicator, OK, there are systems around that assemble various data and roll it into 1 leading indicator, which in fact is a combination of multiple lagging ones, perhaps. When I was talking about MA Xovers, it would have been obvious to most here that it could never be a leading indicator without a confirmation/s from other supporting TA indicators/price action/etc. But that's damn close IMO.
when we consistently get close, we are close enough........i struggled for years for perfect system and we both know what tha t is called......ain't going to happen, but seriously i have recorded real time 75 of 75 YM intraday trades with min B/ E on a couple of thoses........others min 8 pts up to 40 and couple 50.......average 20.............pts per trade.......that is perfection for me..........will it continue the no fail trail........no it won't.......but i am also close to my goal, and now i will back off test and only trade t his one system.........i have many, very many.........all are very good to excellent ........i started right where yhou are now with the ma crossings and worked for t here..........if i sound arrogant i am very sorry.........this is all as true as i can tell you the history of my trading..........my brother trades my stuff every day......he is an engineering genius retired high lever super for dow chemical..........he was a bigger challenge than the market but he is there with me also now that he got over the brain superiority stuff......i am just now ready to go again as severe stroke at 60 yrs old nearly took me out of right now picture for good....you can make it es nq ym romik.......i beleive u can make it as i did for i am really not smart and i know you are so your trip should be shorter than mine................porgie is ready to rock and roll..........
Hey guys, I hope that you don't mind my butting in here, especially since I am new to ET and don't really have anything to contribute, save for a question from time to time that I might want to ask. I'm just reading (lurking) the post daily which I find more than interesting since I am on my quest to begin trading again after 15 years of stepping aside from actually placing a trade. However, I find that reading of the opinions and experiences here from romie, Buy1Sell2, porgie, Spike500, Optioncoach, mechtrader41, and so on to be very worth while. Having said that porgie, I can't speak for anyone but myself when I say that I would hate to see any of you guys stop posting here.
