Quote from bradbtrading:

what is your strategy today JF

Overbought/Oversold on small time frames but I am just working on this system. I have been doing stocks for 2 years and just now coming back to futures.

In the past I lacked discipline and overtraded futures. Trading stocks using strict entry exit rules gave me discipline so I am trying to apply it to the ES now.

Just taking notes today. However meadering markets are the best to trade because you are buying oversold and selling overbought.

No news today, no reason for the market to go anywhere.

That's just as good an explanation as any!

Long @ 791.80, PS @ 789.80, target ... prolly 795.00.

JJ

P.S. There's also a buy @ 1414.00, currently the Dow is Long as well ... regards.

The ES is currently outperforming the other indicies, with the ER being the most laggard, guess there's a first time for everything.

IF the position starts to turn, I'll close it.

Out @ 792.90, $(90).

This is probably a stupid question, but when do you guys roll to the June contract? Do you wait until morning of last trading day of the March contract? Thanks

Last Thursday. Volume switches to the front contract about a week before expiration.

Your brokerage should have given you all the information you needed via email for any contract roll over dates.

If it didn't, get another one that does.

Good trading,

JJ

Well I hope anyone who held Short is holding overnight, and while I didn't go short (uh, learned that lesson), I didn't hold my Long either.

While there has been some talk back-and-forth about the tradability of the ER contract in these parts hereabouts, I think I'll stick to the YM and ES (in that order) for my trades in the financial derivatives. I honestly find the ER just too hot for me to handle.

Good trading,

JJ

The er2 is defintately hot.... but its a blast to trade. The market is being very resiliant. Im a little surprised we havent broken lower today. Tomorrow will be the day where we figure out which way this market is going to go. I think it would be better for all if it goes lower... I want to start getting long at lower prices for a longer term hold.
