Quote from rc5781:

you are not allowed to say that the bulls have won on a -550 day....
By today's standard, -550 is a pocket change one would blush to fuss over. :D

Quote from saliva:

Down but still not out. It has yet to sold off en masse as expected, or rather feared.

You know that it is sad when we say that a 500+ down day is not "sold off en masse". Oh the good ol days.

Haven't been able to get on board the bear train this AM, managed to catch this 2.20 PM bounce almost near the bottom off 3m chart's histo, since not real-time not announcing results achieved :)

T, not ignoring you, just didn't get round to replying to you, sorry man.

It is not a battle between the usual trading crowd.

We are talking about massive liquidation here, day after day. Until enough cash is raised to meet the demand, more selling is expected.

To figure out where the low is - a week of going nowhere with no volume is a good starting point.

very interesting point you raise. care to elaborate?

A week of dead market - No liquidity, no buyers, no sellers.

That implies,

- fund liquidation is done
- retail speculation is over
- day trader on indices are mostly toasted

In short, no one wants to trade or talk about the stock market any more.

to bottom fish here one needs to be excellent on levels, I personally need to see some sort of build up, which isn't there, staying clear
