Hitting the sack and placing a sell limit on the ES at 1389

2 pt stop

8pt target

very, very small size due to AH

good R:R and in the 55% odds area.

In retrospect - amazing entry, apex82. Congrats on that one. And a lucky one as well, for what I'm seeing - the high was a tick above sell limit. Skill or luck.. amazing nonetheless.

storm121.. You know, trading's about making money, not about being right or calling the markets. Your posts r getting kinda childish (if not to say, pointless), no way near like a serious trader.. They don't contribute to anything here. You could think about that and take a small break there. Thanks.

I am a regular lurker on this board. This has got to be a prank. This guy saying the same thing over and over every day can't possibly be serious. It may be one of your colleagues playing a joke. If he is serious, you think he'd add a nuance to the same message now and then.

Quote from dmartin:

You achieved 92% gain for the year and seem to imply that wasn’t really that good. Interesting notion from my experience. One more question concerning never risking more than 2% on any trade. As you stated you went short at 1417 with a stop of 1517. That means if you have an account of $250,000 for example, you could only trade 1 futures contract of the ES. If you were to lose 100 points on 1 contract that would represent a loss of $5000 or 2%. Do I understand that is how you trade and can turn that into a 92% gain for the year?

When I typed the words "trading account only", what I was meaning was that the return on the trading account by itself was 92%. This was a better than average return for me. It usually falls between 50 and 80 percent. The return on TLNW was much less as my trading account represents roughly 20 percent of TLNW. Thus, when I am risking 2 percent of TLNW on a trade, it is 10 percent of the trading account.

So basically you spend most of the year letting unrealized profits slip away just so you can save on commissions ?

:)

It's just a matter of perspective amd time frame. I am looking longer term so yes I am giving back intraday and swing unrealized profits--yes.:)

2nd short 1384 off 1 min, stop near 1386

1st one stopped -1.25

Scaled out +1.75, very similar to yesterday's p/a + formation, pivot holding for now.

C'MON!!!

Holding 1/3

WOW, could this call be any worse? What a joke, 5 minutes later the market drops 12 points.

was able to make a nice profit on the euro trade despite the movement... last unit is resting at BE just a couple ticks above the market so most likely going to get taken out.

1 tick away from stopout on my breakeven entry on the euro(definately luck) and cashed in huge with taking profits at the low on my last unit...

ES trade=big winner... damn I have to admit that was quite an entry but luck.... I dont think so. Why would I call out trades on here if I thought I was just lucky :)

APEX, I think he meant luck as in being in 1 tick from the high, not the actual trade, we that pay attention know there is a lot of skill involved in your trading.
