Quote from Spectre2007:

the underlying basis for the trade is, the economy is not as bad as it is being made out to be by the media which is in cahoots with people who want the uninformed or overleveraged to dump assets at discounts to smart hands.

as the 'fear' fuels runs into bonds, the bonds end up making new highs. But as the highs are made, the price action becomes more volatile, since there is conflicting evidence, and segregation in the populace in regards to macro effects. The wealthy or upper middleclass are still doing quite well.

a dispersion field trade takes advantage of wide swings in a derivative, where the trade is entered counter trend and within the ATR a cover trade is placed. The trade is left alone for price action to 'roundtrip'.

the entry trade is placed at new highs.

marvelous, thanks!

....i am seeing ... either a scallop... which will provide a bounce....
.... or possibly another falling wedge beginning... which would take much longer

Quote from mbusch:

In AH @ 2208ET, short from 1473.75. Still on. Looking for 10 points. 5-to-1 R/R. Half-size position.
Added to short here at 1469.75. Target 1465-1463.

Adding to Spectre2007's post on dispersion fields.

In addition to the mean deviation, there is a random scatter that must be factored in. Thus the need for the cover trade. If-Then-Else. Concepts in physics and civil engineering can also be applied to the markets.

Will we see the gravitational pull to 50-43 today?

If you're into Elliott Waves, here's my take:

I believe we have completed wave 5 of wave 2 (up), and now begun wave 1 of wave 3 (down). I believe wave 3 will take us down to ~1300 and possibly further.

For position traders, I believe this is an excellent time to establish short positions to be held for months.

Spectre- it is snowing this morning. What's the psyche forecast for a snowy Tuesday morn? Are they optimists or pessimists today? I have jotted down the same exact notes about this over the past five years. Amazing similarities in thinking.
