Is this a trading thread or a news blog?

I think there should be eliteanalyst.com as well.
Amen!

I'm looking to go short between 1596.50 and 1502.50, with first PT between 1464.50 and 1455.00 (roughly 40 points) and second PT between 1432.75 and 1425.75 (roughly 70 points).

S/R zones are unusually wide due to high volitility and consequent momentum overshoots.

If my analysis is correct then short entry will occur after a run of buy stops above 1496. The turn will happen very fast, and so the best short entry tactic may well be a sell-at-market order or even a sell stop order that is trailed up behind the blowoff. It doesn't make sense to miss a 40- or 70-point train because your limit order didn't get filled.

First trade to be made will be a sale on a stop at 1474.00. or I will be long on a buy stop at 1497.00:)

Buy stop cancelled. Sell stop raised to 1487.25:) 1 contract

Buy stop will reinitiated at 1497.25 if sell stop gets hit. I will unfortunately not be able to post during the day a lot as I have business to attend to for the foreseeable future. I will be able to enter my buy and sell stops and walk away though. Remember, I am only using stops for entry and exit. I will post my trades after the fact with a chart though, so that you can see what I am doing. Remember, these trades are with very small size and are just sort of fun for activity's sake.

That's more like it! I think you'll have an opportunity to go long from much lower levels in the fullness of time.

Missed your sell stop by one tick at 10:22 EDT. I really want to see this go up 10 points from here before it goes down, but I'm working on a Plan B just in case it doesn't cooperate.

EDIT: Uh oh! B1S2 is now short. I'm not. What's wrong with this picture?

Interesting to compare the various equity index futures. NQ is far more bearish than ES, YM slightly more bullish, and ER2 much more bullish. NQ often leads ES on directional changes, sometimes by a day or more.

I will add short one contract at 1484.25 another at 1480.75 and another at 1478.75--all on sell stops.
