Quote from mbusch:

What are you talking about? I'd never hold a position without a stop. If I did, my broker would have my head on a pike. In fact, I seldom set a stop more than 5 or 6 ticks away from my entry price. Stops seem to work just fine in the Globex, although since they trigger market orders I suppose there's a chance of a little slippage. Never been a problem for me.

Mbusch, my comment was actually a question directed towards Jagmot. He stated that he would hold a small overnight position with no stop, and I wanted to hear his rationale for not placing a stop.

This is a prime example of never chasing the market.... let it come to you.

Just arrived home last night from my vacay... Looking forward to getting back to trading after the holiday.

Great to have you back Apex, you certainly are the life of the party around here :D

Hey... no parking on the dance floor!

Question for anyone who uses Pivots and Fib projections:

How do you treat a day like July 4, when there is a period of limited trading in the Globex for that day.

Do you simply ignore it?

Do you ignore it and rely exclusively on RTH trading for H,L,C for pivots and fibs?

Do you try to incorporate the values produced in any way?

monetary policy continues to be one of hawkishness globally. With european rates edging higher.

can a bull market continue in equities with world central banks in a hawkish mode?

looking for an outside day today to dictate a short term trend reverse.....32.50 is the tuesday lo & if taken out by at least a point,it should tip us off as to direction over the next couple of days.

long 34.50

sl 32.50

60tic trendy

tp1540

ism bid banking

ts 34.50 in place.

where the price gravitates to before ism gives you a clue to what the agenda is.

there is a lot of fluff inventory that was accumulated.. over past few days. That puts the market at risk for a negative day.
