Looking for longs a little lower (13560), we should make new highs later in the day.

Caught the morning reversal for a cool ~ 70 pts. Reduced trade size due to volatility.

Trading Strategy Question for all........

I keep seeing the following in many trader's entries and exits, mainly their "regular" strategy seems to be all in and scale out as follows:

1) Entry is all in
2) Take profit at target X (1/3 of all in position)
3) Take profit at target Y (1/3 of all in position)
4) Trailing stop loss on remaining 1/3 of all position
[or some sort of variation of the above]

Questions:

1) Do you ever scale in, or is it always all in?

2) Once a trade is on, what triggers you to bail all out instead of scaling - generall speaking of course?

Thanks in advance for the insight........

It depends on the situation and trade type. I do both.

For example, this morning I scaled in at the bottom -- because I wasn't 100% confident the level would hold. If I'm scalping, it's all in/all out.

I'm also big on taking partial profits when you have them. Nothing worse then something coming back in your face after you had substantial gains. Its helps the psyche.

seems like no one is considering possible shorts .... if neckline is broken

if support is broken....
if the HS pattern is there.... seems like the ideal play would be a short when neckline is broken....

respect... to all here

Looking at 60- and 240-minute charts, looks to me like it might be best not to get short again until 1541-1542 resistance.

Apex, yesterday you said you were looking to go short around 1536. I'm not seeing a zone there. Do you still see one there?

No that zone is negated.. this market is ready to blast off

Are you still holding longs from the entry around 1518, or are you looking to go long (e.g., 1525)?

i`m sure most are gunshy sitting on the daily spooz TL.......better R/R is to the upside as shorts are tired of being squeezed & trapped in situations just like this.

however ,there will be a time when we slide right thru that TL & it won`t be honored as it has the last year.......that`ll be when everyone expects the 100% bounce.

Long 1524.25
Stop 1522.25 (2 pts)
Target 1540 (15.75 pts)

EDIT: Stop raised to breakeven

That is what I like to see! That is how the pros trade. Im with ya along for the ride. Im in from 1525 with a breakeven stop. Still holding previous unit3 longs from 1518. It may not go straight up but the odds are nice for hitting 1538.
