question..... "the dom" ? ?

also...
..are free bond market quotes available intraday ? is it as easy as ^txn quote..... to watch ?

thanks

DOM = "Depth of Market"

Click based trading with intuitive grid display of market depth

Do you have a trading platform with realtime feeds? DOM is the little window that most use for trading. It shows the bids with size on the left, going down, and the offers with size going up, on the right.

Realtime cash bond market prices as far as I know are only available to bond market pros. You can use bond futures as a good proxy.

The CME has indices that give you the yield of current 5yr, 10yr and bond. These are very accurate and realtime. TS symbols are $FVX.X (5yr), $TNX.X (10yr) and $TYX.X (30yr bond)

$TYX.X quote is 53.19

multiply by 10 gives you 5.319, the yield on the 30yr bond, the 4.75 2/15/2037 at a yield of 5.319 is a price of 91-17+

www.gcm.com will show you current prices of 2yr, 5yr, 10yr but it is not realtime.

We have discussed this before - setting charts to show day session vs 24 hours, but on a day like today if you exclude price action prior to 9:30 am stock market open, aren't you losing a lot of important price action? I would like to eliminate the dead area from 5pm the night before through maybe 4am, but very often significant levels are reached right after an 8:30 number. What are others doing?

I am finding it too volatile to trade right now, anyone else feel this way?

It's trading in a channel.

Market is trying to put in a bottom, hold the Gap and shoot for Yesterday's High.

At least, that's how I'm playing it.

L @ 1514.50, PS @ 1512.50.

Trade taken off @ +4.50 pts (encountering resistance at yesterday's pop-n-drop).

I still think it works to 1527.50 or someplace thereabouts.

Good trading,

JJ

P.S. If Apex82 is still Long from the Pre-Open, he's mak'in a kill'in.
