Here is what I am seeing for the near future. An ascending triangle. If you are looking long term there is still no reason to look for shorts as B1S2 has been saying for months.

You do realize that a (good)argument can be made that the triangle was broken. Argument would have been lessened if the gap remained open.

Im not making the argument, just pointing out that it's in the eyes of chartreader.

very nice. great scalping in action. good to see.
Thanks. The failed trade (-2.25 pts) was caused by my mistaken conviction that "they" would close the gap; rats!

Looking at your chart...wasn't there another ascending triangle the previous week and ended with a rapid 20-point decline? Why is this week's triangle different from last week's?

Yes, I do see that as well but that one was inside a larger formation that would be more credible. IMO...If all the data I had was the smaller triangle you are mentioning then I would have called it a failed pattern though.

The "larger" pattern you see only exists because of todays action. The "inside" pattern was valid for 5 trading days. Depending on your view, it (the "inside" pattern) broke late yesterday or certainly on todays open.

larger pattern or longer duration pattern?? Only time will tell.

I agree, time will tell. The way I used to trade the ES I would wait for a breakout of the pattern anyway. I never did long term plays on the ES. I do on the Q's though and I am trading this pattern long on the Q's right now.

We will see and for my sake I hope I am right. There goes that nasty HOPE word nobody likes.

going or appears it is going to go against me, and I want out NOW!

I know you have said before that with the ES price has to trade though to get filled. Of course, that's not exactly true. What must happen obviously, is that the contracts in front of you must either get filled or get pulled. But, that's the same with any SIF. .

Your telling me that there were people ahead of me when I placed a limit order 12 hours before and it sat there hammering the price for a few minutes with no fill...?

Sure, why not?

There could have been orders sitting there for 13 hours, 13 days or 13 weeks ahead of your order.

If you believe that the exchange is out to get you, it may be time to consider a different source of income or hobby... No one is out to get you or not fill your orders in the appropriate manner. Just b/c you did not get filled does not mean there's something not right. Next time, if you want in when a price level is touched, use an MIT order.
