Would probably need a T&S to confirm, but there does not appear to have been much if any transactions at all during that spike. An instant 29.75 point 10-volume candle.
Instant 30 point loss for any holding short into the release.
I posted some numbers in another thread. Long with a stop below the LOD (and a re-entry if it's a false break) seems like a good trade to me, although it feels overdone here for many.
Color me surprised if we don't hit at least 5450 today. Even 5500 is possible if FOMO kicks in.

I know I have probably left money on the table, but when we are in new high area without a previous high to look to for guidance, I take a 10 point profit and count myself lucky. Reading your post, I'm going to put the "00" and the "50" levels in my mental back pocket.
Took profit on the first contract at the globex high, and then 10 points on the second entry.
I won't complain and I switched my platforms to global sim so that I don't get tempted to be stupid.
I know you guys like to have trades called in real time but I don't trust myself enough to stick to my plan if I were to announce I'm in a trade. The platform does tell the truth so I hope this is acceptable for now until I'm more sure of my own self-discipline.
Predictably, bears will view any pullback as a top and will watch their stops blown out breakeven or worse once again.

I'm not sure if anyone cares to be honest. LOL. At least I don't. Personally, I'm more interested in discussing where the market might be going versus actual trades as I don't learn nothing from a trade posted without any reasoning behind it.

Only times I insist on live calls is when there's an influx of Monday morning quarterbacks repeatedly telling everyone each day how easy it is, how they caught the low 2 hours ago, and then shorted the high tick 30 mins ago etc etc.
