With the Vix at historically low prices, options premiums are very cheap. There was an article I just read on marketwatch that said how you can hedge your portfolio very cheaply. So if the market for once ever actually is allowed to go down and the V doesn't happen, those puts would print."Puts have been extremely cheap"
Huh? July 19 puts on SPY and QQQ are equal to the calls. There's a little thing called a dividend payment between then and now. It's about $1.20 on the SPY. Check the option chains and break out a calculator.
$542 calls are $7.72
Subtract $0.45 (Closing price $542.45) = $7.26
Subtract $1.20 dividend... =$6.06
7/19 $742 SPY puts---> $6.07
... Just sayin'
