ES Journal - 2023/2024

Sorry, I can’t be bothered to reply in full as you raise a few questions and I had few whiskeys this evening and just haven’t got the will to type :) Put it this way, if you come here, you get some value, whatever it may be. And I agree, folks post calls cause they mostly want recognition of sorts, just like instrumentalists want to be appreciated for how well they can perform. I think many traders are a ‘one man band’ and the only like minded people are then found online. So this environment fills the social gap.
I love your discipline with other than trading, the low body fat is not easy! I also love a 'whiskey' and in my case, Kentucky small batch bourbon. Been some time with my husband being murdered by a drive by shooting, I hear a discipline to anything. Thank you--

Its a good point from you both.

To be totally honest, I am happy to share my my overall performance metrics, but I am just not sure about sharing my overall P&L or even my trading process.

This is because I am not trying to make lots of money right now. I am focused 100% on consistency vs everything else. I start with a tiny bit of money, then build it to a working capital amount of £3000. Then each week I withdraw anything above my working capital to protect myself and prevent me from adding more money in the future. I have done this for almost 2 years now. once I have done this for another year I will then go for the bigger cash. When I took the Al Brooks course I totally ruined myself and had to build back from £600 to £3000 in a few months, after a break, which was really difficult.

In terms of my process. I think this would make most people sick. I never use stops or profit targets ever. This works extremely well for me, but I wouldn't want to advertise this to new traders because I don't think it would work for them. Because I am spread-betting, I can keep scaling in with 0.1 NQ positions to control my risk.

I have also had several experiences where I have recommended trades to friends, which they poorly executed and blamed me for. So I try and discuss the direction overall instead of individual trades because I am perhaps scarred by this previous experience, combined with my own bad behaviors which work for me only.

Don't quite follow you considering if you check my post history I despise hindsight trading and that's always why I am not a huge fan of posting text trades. It allows for too much wiggle room for delay and etc. Not to mention the speed of delivery(typing it out) and someone else(refreshing the browser) and reading it provides very little value and at best poor context. Particularly if smaller time frames are active by the time you try and post your trade you may be stopped out, trailing your profit or profit target already hit.

Additionally I've offered to trade live on voice real time with anyone, multiple times. I trade every single day from at least 9 am ish to 12:00pm ish, but 99% of the time I even trade till 4:00pm.

I take trading extremely serious. Sitting here typing out trades makes no sense to me personally. For what so I can prove something? This is not some game to me where I am looking to prove something, get kudos or in need to receive other peoples emotional capital. I want to focus on trading properly and building out a business related to trading.

If you seriously wanted to help someone or trade with them you're going to tell me with a straight face that posting on a text forum is efficient? At best you can use it for intra-day swinging, not every trade I take is a swing trade some are very tight setups that either resolve quickly due to a squeeze or I get stopped out.
So I guess what I wrote literally flew over your head. :)

Let me paraphrase it so that it's easier to understand this time. In my previous reply to you, I intentionally asked you to post live trades only because I knew you would object, which is exactly what you did by writing such a long tedious reply above.

Hence, my question. If you are free to not go along with what I asked of you (ie. posting trades in real time), why the hell are you trying to impose your own ideas and views on others? What makes you think your voice should be heard by others while you don't reciprocate? Do you now see what I'm trying to say?

In another word, let's not be a hypocrite. This applies to not just you or me, but everyone.

My opinion would be voice/screen share is superior to text. Since I am willing to do voice and so far seems you're only willing to do text correct? So why would you be able to down regulate me as a hypocrite, without down regulating yourself? Don't understand that logic. Unless you really believe posting text on a forum is superior? I don't see how that's possible, but if you genuinely believe that so be it, we will call it even.

My macro point and request was not related to participation directly. All I asked is that people that cannot / do not intra-day trade do not give advice to other people looking to do that. If that seems unreasonable to you so be it.

So just exactly who are these fake gurus and what is it that they've said that pissed you off? But, more importantly, why should that even matter to the rest of us? People who congregate here aren't naive noobs. We all know how to trade.

It's NOT about posting via text or video!! Okay, fine, whatever. This obviously isn't going anywhere, so why don't we just drop it and move on.

It's not random fake guru's I am talking about. At any rate there is no value added here in these conversations, so I will follow your lead and drop it.

Some of those positions have 10+ handles of draw down. It's a genuine question, which is what is the point or what are we looking at? I truly don't know. What is the goal of posting this or what are you expecting from others? If there's nothing to be learned from your post and you're going to say "I want nothing from anyone else" than I still have the same question is what the purpose? what if it dropped another 10 points are you going to hold -20 handles? -30 handles?

If it keeps dropping you just keep adding. :D
