Range widened by 10 points but still less than half of avg.Topic sure has been quiet last few days ... as price goes down.
Much like Globex last night. ES balanced VolPro and range of only 27 points vs 5day avg 81 points.
Yes. You're probably in a good position to hold long without much risk. You're risking unrealized profits, though.
If you give back all those unrealized, but certain profits in search for more uncertain profits, that's still money lost/risked.
In principle, there's no difference between liquidating your position with a profit and putting it back on with a new wider stop as your account then is X points larger having cashed in.
I agree in general with regards to news. I'm a technical trader. But, today's release is a special one and one we know are likely to pivot the market for a greater move either up or down.
Buy1Sell2 is trading a very different time frame to most people on here. With the much higher time frames you have to leave more money on the table before a change in direction is realized.
I can appreciate that. Today is special, though. I'll leave it at that.
Good luck everyone.
I am trying to use longer time frames for entry and shorter time frames for my stops. But its not as easy as it sounds. I have ended up using shorter time frames to take profits and longer time frames for my stops.
Nothing easy about trading I'm afraid...
How's your performance been holding up? If I remember correctly you reported a pretty amazing result here in the journal a while back.

Thanks for asking. First year was epic. 2nd year flat, mainly because I was trying to move to higher timeframes and wasn't successful. I seem to be much better at hourly time frames so I will think about moving back to them again soon.
