ES Journal - 2021/2022

Net results for September day trading ES and usually one contract only. That big losing day really put a dent in my performance for sure, but my piker account grew.

#11) Out 3652.75

Win/Loss: -4
Total W/L: -8.75
Continuing from where we left off...

#12) Long 3646.75

Win/Loss: -4
Total W/L: -8.75

Just a reminder, these are all paper trades based on the signals generated by the algo as mentioned below.

For the remaining day, I'll be paper trading. I've been working on this HFT algo lately that's been showing some good results. While it's ideally suitable on 1 minute (or less) chart, I will test it on the 5 minute chart here. Since it makes a lot of trades and I don't wanna bomb this place with all my trades. Anyway, there's no stops involved. It's always in, going from long to short and vice versa.

Why do you still have a "piker account" if you are able to grow every month at 50%...shouldn't you be big and rich by now,

Well, let's see how it goes moving forward... :) I have low expectations, but I realize that past failures often have come from other stuff that's not related to the actual trading part/skills. So, maybe I have a chance to get somewhere if I don't mess up.

I've made many mistakes in the past which I'm determined to not repeat this time around. The three main mistakes:

1) Trading when not in an ideal situation to trade, i.e., with other sh*t going on at the same time. I do have a day job in adddition to this which requires 40-60 hours per week.

Solution: Do not trade every single day or when you're not in an optimal state to trade. You don't have to.

2) Trading with way, way too high leverage

Solution: Trade with lower leverage.

3) Being in a hurry to get rich. This causes overtrading and excessive risk-taking.

Solution: Realize that trading and growing an account is a process and think long-term or even just medium-term. Don't try to get rich in one single day or with one single trade. Equally, don't let the outcome of one single trade/day ruin you.

What? you grew your account by 50% in a month? Your mama would be proud. :D

49 %. :)

Actually, my parents or family don't know that I trade. They bailed me out of debt and provided a loan when I blew an account at the age of 20. About $20K. I promised to never trade again.

There's not many people in my life who know anything about my trading or that I even trade at all. Probably less than 5 people. It's a bit odd to have spent this much time both developing a trading system and trading and not have anyone know about it. But I suppose trading is mostly a lonely pursuit.

There's a reason I'm spamming this thread quite a bit. ;)

i started a 3k account last month and it's actually well into the 7ks now!
Journalling all of my trades live as I take them in my journal (posted about 500 ym points and 40 ES points today I think)
I'm playing the short side as I feel we'll keep dropping like we are for a good while yet
