I find these types of forums largely a waste of time.

I don't disagree with that.

Your comment did seem to have a condescending tone, though. Hence my inquiry. I also find it a bit odd why people have the need to lurk around with different nicks every 2nd month and pretending to be a new person, but each to his own.

I now find being in a small group of traders who like and respect one another and trade ideas and charts a better and more enjoyable way to spend the day.

You seem to speak out against being in a room, yet at he same time now say you are in a room.

Personally, I find that I trade the best when I'm 100 % off-line during market hours. Expressing my opinion about the market or posting trades is very much a distraction, but it's a lonely business and one where one may desire to have some connection with someone on the same journey.

But I've come to accept that I'm alone doing this and will continue being alone.

Even though I'm a putz (had to Google that) the return on my piker account was 228 % this week. Obviously a week out of the ordinary with extraordinary opportunities, but I was mostly on the right side of the market being short early in the week and long on the last two days of the week.

My only regret is not pressing the long side more, but with Thursday being a statistical anomaly, I'll accept that.

Are you going to update us on your position shorts? Everyone seems to be leaning towards long going forward. Have you flipped opinions or are you still confident of further down action?

Are you going to update us on your position shorts? Everyone seems to be leaning towards long going forward. Have you flipped opinions or are you still confident of further down action?

I have not changed my opinion at all... If anything, its strengthened it as this is typical bearish PA.... as far as core short position goes, I have scaled in/ out more times than I can count... adding on significant strength ... covering into significant weakness... & I`ll continue to do so.

I don't speak for him, only for myself. I find these types of forums largely a waste of time. For a new or developing trader IMO, time would be far better spent studying quality materials, careful and focused observation of price development and in the testing of ideas and strategies than participating in a room either actively or passively largely consisting of people calling out numbers "Long xxx, short zzz". some will post charts and trade rationale but most do not. There are active forums on various media which provide a developing trader ideas and strategies that are explained and demonstrated.

Since my early days of learning spent in subscription rooms, I now find being in a small group of traders who like and respect one another and trade ideas and charts a better and more enjoyable way to spend the day. Again I speak for no one else nor do I make decisions or have need to judge anyone else. If somebody finds benefit, comradie, ego gratification, professional development or simply a way to pass the time, that's their business. You asked for my "meaning" and I offer you the courtesy of an answer but have zero interest in engaging in a debate about the thing.....good trading to all.

I’m with ya Speedy… in more ways than one.
The reason I posted live calls along with reason for entering … was to be used as a learning tool as so many say it’s impossible to win in short term trading and make a living at it. When I started out, broker platforms used to think I was nuts when I asked them if they carried the Es mini.. they had no idea what the instrument was, nada! Mutual support was even more rare.
Took me bit better than 10yrs to become consistently profitable where I expected to make money every day. Like Qtrader20 said, lean miserable years with no support .. blood sweat and tears along with an unfettered belief in yourself to figure it out…. I feel it’s my duty to pay it forward just a little… as there have been many that stopped short just a year or 2 away from success due to life’s grinding ways, family pressure & capital running out. Life’s very short, May as well develop a craft you love and provides you true independence… that’s what I’m in it for… not material things like my buddies whom have all the toys and 6 cars.. it’s about freedom and being thankful & benevolent when you can!
