ES Journal - 2021/2022

It really depends on if you shorted from higher and how many points you locked in, also account size, risk tolerance, skill level and etc just my opinion.

Personally I'd prefer a little rally before looking short, but I am still willing to short, just prefer a rally first and than wait for a short setup I know and use fairly tight stops and if I get stopped I get stopped. Can't afford to hold through a 100+ point NQ move, than add and than have it go up another 50-100+ points. Just not an option for me.

I imagine we have at least some type of short covering rally again eventually, like the 224 point move we had last night.

Comparison is indeed difficult. When you look at a few days back in may you can see that the high is often 2-3% higher than the open, so it could be worthwhile to wait for such a 'gapfill-move' before entering a new short position (if you want to go short).
Goodluck today!

Nice. Pretty sure I use similar approach to you. If I remember you use momentum as one of your perimeters, which I use a highly customized momentum indicator. I've broken the markets down to a pretty high level in multiple area's, yet have some pretty clear and simple trigger points. Just mentally need to learn the patience you have. Know it's dumb but I feel rushed to grow my account, since it isn't particularly large, so take sub standard trades sometimes, which just ends up putting me further behind.

But I've had very few losers this week on my main account and didn't take tons of trades. So, I am getting better and learning to follow your lead.

Well, I quit a nice paying job for doing this more than a decade ago. I blew up few accounts since then while learning the craft of trading. I almost jumped down the bridge when everybody left me, except my wife who supported me along, and I didn't want to be a burden to her. I thought I hit rock bottom many times, but the bottom was always deeper than I thought.

So, do you have the guts to follow my trading path??? :D
