I think you can go both ways on this if you have an edge. I don't mind being positioned ahead of FOMC or other announcements if I have a strong conviction based on the charts.

That's fair - but I'm primarily a scalper (though I do let some contracts run beyond primary target).

So its basically suicide for my approach. There will be plenty of opportunity after any excess reaction from the announcement cools a bit.
 
Makes sense. Glad we can have civil discussion on this! Seems like there are some good folks on this forum who know what they are doing!

It's a non-event. He's not going to say anything to spook the markets. He knows what they want to hear. That's why we've stayed up all day. The market is just waiting for the rubber stamp. This little drop pre-announcement is a buying opportunity.
