There are certainly 'barbarians at the gate'. (good book btw from back in the day... rjr/nabisco. Another era. You young cats should read it though. Many things still apply today. For real. The more things change...)

Anyway, so yeah... an assault on the Veezee top. I knew it was coming. The troops were amassing. As Halvesees said, this market will now substitute trading on China trade deal news with trading on Covid vaccine news. Or news about re-infections etc. That's to be expected. And as I said a few times, 2975 will be breached more than likely by a few reactionary upspikes. But 2975 will stand. So no worries.

What's really good here, and I hope he reads it, is NQ's calls.

I said in a post about another topic here last week that T/A was about "fences". So true.
Today was a case in point. The indexes out of the blue move on unexpected news... but look what happened... they can soar... but they hit fences. NQ called these things to a friggin "T".
He does it on the up-side, he's done it on the downside.

B1 has me on super-ignore... but he's an idiot if he doesn't include NQ in his top 12. Top 3 easy. From what I've seen here... when it comes to ES... gold, silver, or bronze for sure.
So...

..."By the power invested in me (as a mere court jester)... @NQurious is hereby inducted into 'The Order of the Magic Pencil'. May it continue to serve him well."

Beast calls NQ. For real bro. I'm grandfathered in if and when you ever go pro mofo.

Thanks for the detailed reply mister VZ, it's appreciated. Book tip noted down but will have to wait since I have a couple of books waiting on the list already.

And could not agree more about NQ. It's amazing how lucky he was lately (since we all know TA is BS) ;-)

pwercut last 2 horus or so. Also seems to have ruined my trading desktop! (pc seems to power on but no monitor signal at all. Maybe the powercut fried it or something) Not sure i'll be about today or tomorrow etc

thanks @EON Kid .
Strangely enough it was my monitor that was somehow fried (presumably) in the power outage.
PC is working and is now connected too a gigantic TV that's stupidly big lol. Kinda like it though, tbh. Nice to really have that negative figure from a losing trade burning into your retina in an unmissable fashion! Cheers

My desktop, 6 monitors, speakers, and external cooling fan are plugged into this surge protector and battery backup. I've lost power while trading and not lost a beat(one time the power company was doing work in the neighborhood and shut us down, another time a squirrel self-immolated itself on at transformer somewhere close). That being said, during T-storms I don't take chances and shut down the systems and unplug the surge protector.

Powell testifies @ 10:00. Will there be volatility?

My best bet for today is that we will trade above yesterday's high and as a minimum print 2970,50. Next target would be 2984 and finally 3000. All that can easily happen today and I feel quite confident we'll close net positive on the day, i.e., above 2946,25.

However, should we trade lower on the Open and 2940 does not hold - I'd not be surprised to see a decent sell back into last week's range and start filling all that air below from between now and Friday's Close.

IOW - bullish above 2940. Bearish below. Pretty much.

I can see move down as low as 2925.50 to still maintain a bullish outlook. I'll make my decision based on reversal strength if we visit that level.
