I don't trade the VIX but they should tied to the ES put premium.

Even if we ended up flat tmr, VIX will go down. Greater than 50% of VIX down then up, so I took the trade.

They didn't do this 2 weeks ago when we went all the way down. I guess they're limiting participation in the up move.

Isn’t the goal of a broker to make commissions ?
There are other brokers out there also.

Down another 1000 pts for the S&P? Big down move is almost done at this point. Carnage is already in place. It may move another 500 pts, but that's 50% of the current down leg this month.

They are simply responding to the CME increases, and adjusting accordingly as compared to their own risk parameters. CME has been spitting out Equity margin updates every couple of days now for two weeks.

CME's margin is $12k now. IB in their infinite wisdom has it at $27k+. Thank god I left IB long time ago

Not sure how they came up with 27k, especially, when VIX is lower now.
