Why a sell-off? Why not just a pullback?
Below - we have an open gap at 36.
Holding overnight ? Good luck with that. Post 4 pm price action was pretty bullish....that fooled me. The 3083 level held 7 times on the 200 tick chart before the move up.
Noob question: The pop we had after the close, was that news-related or just another manipulation? (Rhetorical question of course)

I don't see anything special about that 'pop'.
All same for me. Buy when it goes up, sell when it goes down.
Well, it took all afternoon to drop meager 4 points and it takes, what, only 10 lousy minutes to move it back up. Don't know about you but that smells like manipulation to me.
You seem to have been mostly selling when it's going up lately...
Well, it's a known fact that the stock market closes at 4:00 PM. Thus, there's a disconnect between the futures and the cash market after that.
So, if someone would want to influence the market short term, it's easier to do so in the after hours or extended session.
Wouldn't worry too much about it though and even if the market should be manipulated this or that direction - better go with the flow, right?
