Correct. This is the way that bear markets work. Predominant trend is down but you get bounces. I expect more selling.

Although my post was tongue in cheek, and I understand you are generally a long term trader, a bear with a long term horizon is facing long odds. Impossible odds. Global economic fundamentals are weakening. Everyone can see that. However, Central Banks around the world are responding very aggressively. It seems to me, a logical adjustment for these conditions would be to trade shorter term and to use technicals.
