I noticed it was gone this morning. I had nothing to do with it, so you'd have to find out from @Baron, @Magna, or @oraclewizard77 as to what prompted it's removal. I would guess the fact that neither one of you realize how bigoted you each sound by using the particular slur you are both so fond of using may be the reason. You are likely too deficient in either character or brains to even realize that it is no longer 1980 and language of that sort is generally frowned upon. You can call me names all day - if your posts get moderated it won't be because I asked for it.

You should be thankful that a mod deleted your post. I actually said to @speedo this morning that I'd rather have seen it remain as an example of your character. You both are really projecting quite a bit when you say I have a fragile ego ... I'm not the one who goes full tilt over an anonymous forum participant and resorts to school boy taunts.

And you both hold yourselves so far superior to everyone here. LF even goes so far as to claim to have special data that is his and his alone lol - no one else has this secret stash of "data."

As to the HWB, sure it is as old as the hills. And it works everyday of the year. So us poor dumb souls who can't afford to buy our own super secret data with special magical powers need to make do with the tried and true tools that work.

You might want to reacquaint yourself with it ... even if you don't use it to make money you might be able to save some:

Compare that to yesterday's HWB at 2914 ... not a bad piece of info to put out there for others here in the greatest financial journal on the interweb as price traded 14's and is now about 27 points higher. These HWB's have made me a lot of money over the years. Heck, they've done alright by me in just the last few months that I've been here in @Buy1Sell2's journal.

How's that data of yours treating you?

How about @Laissez Faire and @mbondy put your "money" where your mouths are and come here next week and wow us with your calls - show us poor slobs how "real traders" do "real "trading." Because you said his lesson was based on hindsight and thus full of flaws. That's it. That's all he can handle. Now, you figure out the rest...

Are you blocking/ignoring me or not? Make up your mind already. It really looks lame to flaunt that you're blocking someone, then continue badmouthing that individual and then writing long posts to the guy while still having him on ignore.

Well, I do have access to data that is not readily available to everyone else as it's the result of my own research and development.

@mbondy particularly pointed out how you got jealous when glazier told his other guy used 'models'. You couldn't fathom that and said he were simply using 50 % retracements. LOL.

You don't seem quite up to date in this time and age and that's fine. Just seems a bit odd if you think charts are the only way to trade.

I post when and if I feel like it. Certainly not on your request. I've done countless calls and contributions to this thread throughout the years, but there's really no reason a serious day trader would post continuously on this thread throughout a market session as it can be a serious distraction from actual trading. At least in my experience.

I believe there is no edge available aside from price action other than the trader's own intelligence - some people are just plain smarter than others - I mean, no matter what you think of @destriero there is no denying that he is one smart dude. And some people have incredible pattern recognition skills while others couldn't solve a one piece puzzle.

Otherwise, whether one is using "chart patterns," trend analysis, statistical analysis, technical indicators (most of which are measuring trend/momentum/change over time, price relative to its own n period range, or price relative to it's own n period mean), one is limited to the real world of the market as it exists. And there is no information available until someone buys something from someone. But it is all the same data, just packaged and put to use via different manipulations and/or interpretations.

I have a special contempt for those who would seek to elevate their own ego as the "keeper of the key" at the expense of keeping others in the dark. The worst cases of this, imo, are those who lay claim to "proprietary models" when they are so obviously using methods that have long been in the public domain.

One last word on Fib's - I am not a fib guy. Other than HWB's I have not found a way to consistently use them for either entries or profit targets. And I really do believe they are of dubious value when trading longer time frames. But intraday, I do note where these levels are, and if one of them lines up with an actual support/resistance data point, then that data point becomes of special interest to me, because I know that in addition to S/R traders, the fib traders will also be looking at how price reacts at that level. But random fib levels are, imo, unimportant.

Here's a short but, imo, very valuable book that I found very helpful. While it may at first appear to be an older form of "bar by bar" analysis such as that followed by Al Brooks, it is far more than that. In fact, it is not "bar by bar" at all. John Hill's explanations of the behavior behind the "pattern" is what makes this so valuable.

There is nothing wrong with the old, the tried, the true. And it is not nearly as simple-minded as many would have you believe. Everyone of us, so long as we have capital to trade and access to price data has everything necessary physically in order to trade profitably. The work ethic and intelligence to put extract from that data a plan that will yield consistent results is where we differ from one another.

Well said, the seed of all analytics is price at a point in time. Quants, TA, etc, etc. Even rented dart throwing monkeys require a start point.

Have you seen Linda Raschke's Tech Trading Manual ? It was online - not sure still available..Very exhaustive/comprehensive with charts, biz plan, psychology, etc..

That's a great book ... I'm sure it's value will be missed by most who give it simply a quick scan. After all, the darn thing is out of print but you can almost never find a used copy available. That implies, to me at least, that most don't see any value, but those few who do are not going to easily give up their copy.

I have spoken of one of my mentors. During the course of my development I was fortunate enough to have found two great mentors. I found them both online. I have actually never met the one whom I have referred to in the past. The second, however, turned out to live very close to me and he and I have become good friends and I have spent a lot of time with him both talking shop as well as playing eighteen.

He had attended an LBR seminar in Chicago back in the 90's and he gave me the seminar work book with all the charts, set ups, etc. as well as the audio cassette recordings of the seminar (hours and hours of LBR going over the material). Very good stuff ... and whenever I read one of these ET'ers disparage charts and tape reading and support and resistance concepts as quaint and archaic I have to chuckle a bit because no way any of them have accomplished anything close to what she has in the trading arena, and she has done it all with TA and PA.

Basic stuff ... no doubt well below the uber-intelligence level of the average ET'er lol ...
