Very close to today's top here. Looking to short for a daytrade.

Thanks, bash me so I can learn more. I love it. My risk was tight. Stopped 20.5. But stupid to short you are all right. Trying to learn the most I can from here that's why I posted the chart and learnt a lesson already :)

It's not stupid to short if you have a short signal and a reasonable risk/reward. What is stupid is trying to pick tops ...and bottoms without the aforementioned.
 
Ahh, too bad you didn't fill at 2908.75.

Me too. I thought the floor was 09 and bought 100 million contracts there (thicc book!). Hold on, let me see where the top was...yeah, sold those 100 million contracts at 23.50.
sorry instead of "risk" should have been "space". My bad, stop loss was 2807.75

So the question you need to ask and answer for yourself (not us) is were you shorting because you have a trading plan that defines a set of variables and conditions that were present and as such indicated a short was appropriate, or were you simply selling a perceived R level?
