To be fair in 1989 at age 27 i had about $400k to start with. I was a top insurance salesman and lived at home and saved every penny . So i never struggled like many guys . In 1990 during the persian gulf buildup to the war in Jan 2001 i had been killing it . I stacked huge shorts into the first shots fired. I remember Japan was down 1000 pts and i said yes i'm going to mop up. Stayed up all night and Jan slowly ripped off its lows and turned green. I was helpless as i owned stock and had to wait till the open. We opened up huge and i lost like $55k. It was my first moment of " The mkt doesn't have to fall on bad news". That stuck with me and taught me my first lesson i never forgot.
I had a feeling you were a trust fund baby!
