Sure there are circuit breakers in place, PPT, etc... for me personally I cannot sleep at night knowing that this could happen at any time even with probs being low. However on the short side, I don’t recall market ever closing up 7% in one day or closing for 4 consecutive days.

If your were trading ES that morning you were able to get out before CME closed.
Even if you were swinging 40 or 100 lots on a seven figure account although the loss would hurt it wouldn't blow you out.

How many times has a 9/11 event happened in the last 22,000 trading days ?

Nearly there, but I would be careful just yet about getting long hier if you aren't yet. As you know, when I am trading long, I prefer overnight pullbacks. not overnight gap-ups. I'll be looking for a day trade long tomorrow on a pullback.
